Case Study #1

Client: TDC (Trading and Development Corporation)
Project: Poster Design
Title: Auto-Motivation
Subtitle: A few good reasons to buy

Challenge:

TDC Automotive division launched a promotion called Auto Motivation, the idea behind which was that the terms of the promotion were so lucrative that it would motivate potential buyers to make a purchase. The target market was an industrial type worker and industrial type vehicles were the focus of the marketing team.

The Strategy:

The first step was to establish which professional would be most suitable to represent the industrial class without restricting the promotion’s appeal to said professionals. Carpenters were identified as a relatable profession and the artwork produced reflected a possible work environment and two carpenters on their way to the truck of their choice. In keeping with the theme, the promotional details were incorporated in a signage to the right of the design, included for just that purpose.

Client: Solid Waste Nevis
Project: Poster Design
Title: Bag the Litter Problem. Use Reusable Bags

Challenge:

Environmental awareness has not been a heavily promoted message in many of the Caribbean islands for years. Solid Waste Nevis hoped to introduce the concept with a mixture of hard facts for a mature audience and visual aids for visual persons and younger audiences.

The Strategy:

Simplicity in design and with an exaggerated but realistic overtone, the concept shows a beautiful beach abruptly interrupted by a plastic bag entering the forefront of the right of the ad. The bag bears the slogan “Bag the Litter Problem. Use Reusable Bags.” The slogan is underscored with the subheading “Keep Nevis Beautiful.” At the utmost bottom of the ad, there are environmental facts including the decomposition rate of plastic bags; facts that a mature audience would see to peruse.

Client: TDC
Project: Magazine Ad Design
Title: “You May Not See Us in the Office… But We are Always Working for You.”

Challenge:

Create a generic TDC ad to reflect the strength, size, stability and competitiveness of the TDC Group at corporate level without focusing on any specific focus on a particular department or aspect of the company.

The Strategy:

The first thought may be to use a powerful shot of the conference room with the board of directors but a more creative approach to the project was the boardroom scene in the background with empty seats and a main foreground of an employee level individual holding documents. The slogan reads “You May Not See Us in the Office… But We are Always Working for You.” The inviting smile and attire lend itself to the corporate feel and employee level representation makes the ad one that people can more readily relate to.

Client: Nevis Culturama Committee
Project: Poster Design
Title: - Official Poster Design -

Challenge:

Create a design to holistically reflect the wide spectrum of events and activities that the Culturama festivities present.

The Strategy:

The design features composited images all significant in their own right, from the reigning queen to the calypso monarch and teen pageant winners; they were all featured in the design. The overall design was balanced with the introduction of cool blues and greens to offset the heavy set design laden with photos.

Project: Poster Design
Title: Pick Your Double Discount

Challenge:

Create a Christmas themed ad. Creative freedom was ours but the promotion entailed discounts up to 25% being pulled from a box at the outlet then doubled to 50%.

The Strategy:

The design features a collage of colours at the base that separates the contact information from the main design. The main design features a character bearing two gifts, the one on the right is blue and branded with the TDC logo while the other remarkably smaller package is coloured to allude to the offerings of their closest competitor.
